nerd alert!

pantone, the color whore it is, is marketing interior paint...about time! what have OCD housewives with an artsy edge and interior designers been using all this time? you know you want the perfect, most accurate hue of blue to compliment your couch, no? i do. plus...it's earth-friendly (like everything else these days).

stefanie posavec just made me cry.

i can't even put into words how amazing and gorgeous i think this work is. i haven't seen something so unique and intricate and layered and beautiful in like...a long time. SO IMPRESSIVE! i'm kinda nerdy and without words right now so i will quote the entry from notcot.com:

The pieces featured in On the Map focused on Kerouac’s On the Road. The maps visually represent the rhythm and structure of Kerouac’s literary space, creating works that are not only gorgeous from the point of view of graphic design, but also exhibit scientific rigor and precision in their formulation: meticulous scouring the surface of the text, highlighting and noting sentence length, prosody and themes, Posavec’s approach to the text is not unlike that of a surveyor. And similarly, the act is near reverential in its approach and the results are stunning graphical displays of the nature of the subject. The literary organism, rhythm textures and sentence drawings are truly gorgeous pieces. It’s not often that I am so thoroughly impressed by the depth of an artist’s work, but somehow, for me, these pieces do it all.
obviously, judging by how many time it's been used in this post, gorgeous is thee best word to describe stefanie's work. helllooo, just take a look:
